Case Study 1

Our client, a regional law firm, represented an employer in a claim brought by a previous employee for wrongful dismissal. The case involved allegations of a complex fraud committed by the employee. Proving that the fraud had taken place was going to take upwards for 3 weeks of lawyer time to examine and analyse computer records and paperwork. The value of the claim was such that it was disproportionate for the lawyer in charge of the case to complete that work. Needing a cost effective alternative the firm turned to i-Lit Paralegals to find a suitable candidate who would quickly be able to grasp the issues of the case and communicate their findings in a clear, concise but comprehensive manner. We provided a selection of candidates for interview all of whom had been interviewed and pre-qualified as being suitable for the job. The successful candidate started work within 3 days of interview and successfully completed the work on time and within budget.

Case Study 2

Our client, an international law firm, was conducting a piece of litigation on behalf of a global bank. The e-disclosure process required that approximately 220,000 documents were reviewed and marked up for relevancy to the litigation on a hosted electronic document review platform. Initially we provided 20 prequalified staff (all of whom had previous experience of the document review platform and large scale review exercises) for interview in order to fill a total of 10 available roles. On meeting with the candidates our client elected to increase the size of the team to 15 in order to effectively utilise the resource available to them (the 5 not offered work were kept on a reserve list in order provide a contingency should members of the core team become ill or decide to hand in their notice). i-Lit Paralegals arranged for each of the successful candidates to have appropriate computer hardware supplied to them at the clients offices and the work was completed on time and within budget. Staff from that project have subsequently been recalled to the clients offices in order complete a more detailed analysis of certain aspects of the case.

Case Study 1

Our client, an international law firm, had been engaged by a company to complete an internal review of practices to ensure compliance with various international jurisdictions regulations. Part of that process involved the review of a large volume of documentation. i-Lit Paralegals provided a team of 5 staff who were appropriately qualified to make decisions on the contents of various different types of documents. The review looked at a total of 71000 documents and was completed at an average cost per document of £0.49.

Case Study 1

A team of 9 staff were employed to complete a due diligence review of the contents of approximately 7000 leases prior to the acquisition of a portfolio of freehold properties. The leases (all of which were in hard copy) were divided amongst the team before being analysed for several key pieces of information. That information was collated on a series of spreadsheets prior to the spreadsheets being combined and a comprehensive picture of the current state of the leases was arrived at.
